For a long time I was disappointed by what the fitness market offered: on one side, big commercial gyms where you feel lost; on the other, private coaching out of reach. What was missing was a place to train regularly, with individual follow-up, at a fair price.

After 15 years in finance, I changed careers: a fitness coaching qualification, then founding Milon-Club. The road wasn't easy: I faced surgery in the middle of the transition. But the project was stronger than the obstacles.

To help members of very different levels progress at the same time, I trained with StrongFirst, the leading school of strength. And I surrounded myself with a team of coaches all certified by that same school.

“Milon-Club is the answer I wish I'd found when I started.”

My sporting journey began with fencing, for about ten years. To improve, I had to gain speed, endurance and explosiveness, and build mobility in every joint. That's how I got into strength and conditioning, and the kettlebell met many of those demands.

My first job was as a primary school teacher. Children learn within a clear framework, step by step. When I became a coach, I realised adults work the same way, especially when sport is a hobby.

I extended my work to Olympic lifting, convinced it's valuable for everyone. At Milon-Club, I always insist on mobility and core strength. Not because it's trendy: because it's what protects you in the long term.

“Deep down, I'm still a teacher. The medium has changed, not the approach.”

One trait sets me apart: I need to understand my whole environment before acting. I don't charge ahead with half the information. When I coach, I watch how movements are performed, the rhythm of the breathing, the quality of the bracing, the strength level, the compensations…

And I make a point of giving the most relevant advice at the best moment. It often solves two or three problems at once, because the whole body responds to well-targeted adjustments, and members progress faster than they think.

For over 10 years, I've been coaching and working as an educator. I've seen the boom in “miracle methods”, and I sort passing fads from proven practices to build a holistic approach.

“Each element feeds the others, and ends up forming a virtuous circle.”

As a strength and conditioning coach for semi-professional footballers, I know performance is built in the details. Certified in FMS (functional movement) and APA (adapted physical activity), I read the body before correcting it, including for comebacks after an injury or a long break.

What defines me is the importance of the human relationship in every session: I build with each member, taking into account their history, their level and their goals.

“Performance doesn't come from a one-size-fits-all method. It's built with each member.”

Like several of my colleagues, I haven't always been a coach. In my first job, I knew I would never feel fully fulfilled. The day I understood that, changing careers became the obvious choice.

Before that, there was boxing. I fought as an amateur, at regional then national level. There I discovered the very high level of physical preparation the sport demands, but also a real mental challenge: growing under enormous pressure, and staying clear-headed when everything pushes you to lose your composure.

Training boxers quickly seemed a far more appealing future. Over the years, I broadened my work to strength and conditioning around the kettlebell, and StrongFirst courses were the natural next step. At Milon-Club, I pass on what the ring taught me: strength is built as much in the head as in the body.

“In the ring, you never progress by chance. Here neither.”
